Supportive Spaces

A supportive workplace increases the success of smoke-free policies by helping employees quit and stay quit.

  • Highlight coverage for quit-smoking supports in your health plan or EFAP.
  • Consider adding cessation resources if not included.
  • Share links to government and community tools.
  • Host quit challenges or wellness events.
  • Offer Quit Kits (e.g., gum, fidget toys, puzzles).
  • Celebrate employee progress and milestones.
  • Promote access to both internal and external quit supports.
  • Use positive, inclusive messaging when promoting wellness.
  • Encourage leadership to endorse and model smoke-free efforts.
  • Reach employees via posters, email, staff meetings, and Wellness Champions.

Download these signs to post at your workplace or contact your local Public Health Unit for those that are required by law.
